National Junior Tennis League
The USTA National Junior Tennis League is a great way to introduce the sport of tennis to youngsters. Founded by Arthur Ashe, Charlie Parcell and Sheridan Snyder the NJTL program provides children with an opportunity to learn tennis and a means for learning good sportsmanship and character. Four regional 2006 NJTL Rallies were held in Texas. Houston, Waco, Corpus Christi, and Lubbock were hosts. Waco's was held in July at the Baylor Varsity courts.
Alterra Sterling House
Residents of Alterra Sterling House were treated to some tennis this Fall. Darrel Thompson visited several times each month taking his traveling net, some racquets, balls and ever faithful companion Jason the tennis target.
